Environmental Services Technician ~ 2nd shift
Overview:
Perform a wide variety of cleaning services to ensure all assigned areas of the College are maintained.
This includes, but not limited to, cleaning, special event set-ups and project work.
The goal is to provide a clean and aesthetically pleasing environment that supports and aligns with the College’s mission statement.
Essential Functions:
• Strong attention to detail - Monitors and checks work or information and plans and organizes time and resources efficiently without close supervision.
• Maintains the overall cleanliness and sanitation of College facilities and/or College owned properties.
Duties may vary between shifts and/or building assignments.
• Responsible for assigned, College issued cell phones, keys, uniforms and equipment.
• Participate in College wide recycling program as it pertains to custodial responsibilities.
• Attend all mandatory OSHA and other College approved safety training classes.
• Use of equipment and chemicals in a safe manner.
Report safety concerns to Director of Buildings, Maintenance and Grounds and/or designee.
• Assist other departments with special events, emergency situations or as directed.
• Flexibility and assistance in the absence of other Environmental Service Technicians.
• Access work orders, complete assigned work orders
• Compliance with policies set forth by the College Operations Manual and IOUE1 CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement).
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Basic computer skills required for use of email, e-forms, submit time, track and respond to work orders.
• Ability to work the hours of 1:00 – 9:30 pm M-F
• Ability to successfully perform repetitive tasks and endurance of medium to heavy physical exertion daily.
• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous custodial experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Certifications in floor care, carpet care and/or upholstery cared
Desired Competencies:
• Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and/or disabilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including written and oral with the ability to communicate effectively
• Individual that is self-motivated with strong organizational skills
