The Phelps Residence Inn is seeking an energetic and passionate individual to fill the role of Housekeeping Supervisor.
An individual who can provide high quality service to our guests and lead our team of room attendants alongside our Executive Housekeeping Manager.
Responsibilities:
* Utilizes Guest Voice reporting to ensure quality of service meets PGH expectations and reviews daily MOD Report for any service issues that may need addressed.
* Assists with supervising and coordinating the activities of the housekeeping department.
Runs daily housekeeping operations when Executive Housekeeper is not scheduled.
* Provides a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs.
* Assists Executive Housekeeper with monitoring and ensuring compliance with all PGH and Residence Inn by Marriott policies and procedures including, but not limited to, Life Safety, Brand Standards Audit (BSA), and PGH Quality Assurance (QA)
* Ensures adherence to the employee conduct policy.
* Assists with interviewing applicants.
Trains new employees and conducts ongoing training of all housekeeping employees to increase job knowledge and skill level.
* Coaches and counsels employees to encourage positive behaviors and correct negative behaviors.
Creates documentation for approval , as needed, and communicates any instances to the Executive Housekeeper.
* Conducts daily stand-up meetings with department to review daily projects, hotel business levels, and other relevant updates.
* Participates in monthly department meeting.
* Attends weekly management meetings in Executive Housekeeper’s absence.
* Promotes teamwork and employee morale.
* Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees to solve work-related problems.
Seeks assistance from Executive Housekeeper, Human Resources, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager when necessary.
* Suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work-related goals.
* Communicates with Executive Housekeeper in all aspects of the department, associate performance, and hotel business.
* Assists with inspecting punch edits daily and correcting missed punches with associate approval.
Assists with investigating missed breaks.
Assists with preparing timecards for payroll as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
* Assists with the weekly housekeeping personnel schedule based on occupancy forecast and Productivity Index (PI) goals as directed by the Executive Housekeeper.
* Inspects all areas of the hotel (rooms, public space, back of house, grounds) to ensure sanitation standards are met.
* Assists with inventories and purchasing supplies within PGH guidelines, utilizing the purchase order system when appropriate.
Ensures purchases are logged in the department checkbook, stays within budget for assigned accounts, and submits properly coded invoices in a timely manner to the GM for approval.
* Communicates on a timely basis the changes in room status throughout the day.
* Coordinates room cleaning to ensure sanitation standards are adhered to.
* Assists in the cleaning of guest rooms as needed.
* Assists housekeepers in maintaining a clean and orderly housekeeping cart.
* Assists with laundry room procedures and assists with ensuring that standards are being carried out.
Performs in-house laundry procedures as required.
* Reports all deficiencies and problems in guest room physical condition to the Executive Housekeeper, Maintenance Supervisor, and/or General Manager.
* Has thorough knowledge of hotel property, services, staff, hours of operation, room types, room locations, and property management system (FOSSE).
* Assists with maintaining hotel lost and found program.
* Effectively communicates with all departments and management.
* Other duties as assigned of which the employee is capable of performing.
