JOB SUMMARY for PREP COOK
Execute all back of house duties needed to prepare and package off site catering events and meals for our restaurant per Kitchen Manager's exact specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *Standing for extended periods of time *Lifting 40 pounds or more *Advanced knowledge of and adherence to sanitation standards *Receptive to on-the-job training *Ability to take oral instructions and corrections *Cooking skills to execute daily changing cooking tasks *Knowledge of ingredients & cooking techniques (specifically soul food) *Set up station with all necessary supplies *Cooperation with all other kitchen staff *Answer, report to, and follow Kitchen Manager's instructions *Clean up prep area and take care of any leftover food or ingredients *Stock inventory appropriately *Execute food of high quality and in a timely fashion *Comply with nutritional, sanitation, and safety regulations illustrated by management team *Maintain positive and professional approach to coworkers and clients *Must have clean driving record to be insured on company vehicles *Other responsibilities to include but are not limited to the following: manually washing dishes, sweep & mop floors, clean behind and sanitize all workstations including walls and floor around area worked, taking out trash, answering the phone, plating and packaging carry out meals, operating the point of sale, answering customer questions and other tasks as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (not listed in order of importance) *Advanced cooking skills and knowledge of ingredients, cuisines, and cooking methods *Developed palate and tasting skills *Excellent interpreter of oral instruction *Professional communication skills *Professional dress and appearance *ServSafe training (or similar sanitation credentials) *Familiar with industry’s best practices *Accuracy and speed in executing tasks DISTRIBUTION OF JOB RESPONSIBILIES 50% - executing quality food products per Kitchen Manager’s specifications 30% - Waiting on customers and packaging meals to go in the restaurant or on the food truck 10% - general cleaning duties maintaining ServSafe and Northern Kentucky Health Department safety and quality standards for both food produced and facility cleanliness 0% - serving as a buffet attendant at full-service events (example: weddings) 10% deep cleaning duties on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to maintain the best possible facility for food production JOB SUMMARY for EVENT COOK Execute back of house and front of house service duties per executive chef’s exact specifications to provide for our clients’ various needs during off site events.
