Summary:
Directs environmental services at the facility to ensure clean, safe, orderly, and attractive conditions of establishment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping, laundry and maintenance staff.
Develops, evaluates, implements, and revises polices and procedures for department that maximize the control and prevention of infections.
Plans, develops, and implements in-service education programs.
Plans work schedules and assigns work to staff to ensure adequate service and coverage.
Conducts staff meetings to discuss new or modified procedures within department.
Plans, prepares, and administers annual department budget.
Researches and selects equipment and supplies for department.
Coordinates activities of department with other departments within facility.
Plans and arranges for conference, luncheon, banquet, and meeting setups.
Serves on various committees.
Inspects and evaluates physical and sanitation conditions of facility.
Makes recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space.
Periodically inventories supplies and equipment.
Investigates new and improved cleaning instruments and methods.
*Maintain the confidentiality of all resident, staff and organization information.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises employees in the Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A.
A.
) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Qualifications
Must have experience in plumbing, electrical, building projects and general building maintenance.
