DISTINGUISHING JOB CHARACTERISTICS Responsible for proctoring and administering standardized computer tests to groups and individuals.
Maintain quiet atmosphere for testing and follow standard testing protocol as noted by said agency, faculty or staff requiring the test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform essential duties to expected performance standards.
Reasonable accommodations are made as required for persons who are disabled under the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Proctors and administers standardized tests to groups and individuals.
Maintain quiet, secure atmosphere for testing.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials, test logs, and other test documents.
Must be vigilant and pay close attention to cheating and prevention of cheating.
Able to administer Testing Center rules.
Prepare documentation of cheating or dishonesty to assist in disciplinary process.
Return testing materials to appropriate instructors or agencies as required.
Work with faculty to have information/materials to proctor exams in a timely manner.
Work with students who have need of special accommodations, including, but not limited to reading tests, scribing tests, or providing special testing climate.
May assist with design and distribution of flyers, handouts, and door signs regarding Testing Center’s hours and rules.
May require some evening and Saturday hours to accommodate testing students.
Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other related duties as required.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED Computer; printer; scanner; copier; fax machine; telephone; and other standard office equipment.
CONFIDENTIAL DATA Student and other information covered by FERPA guidelines and agreed to in the College’s FERPA Confidentiality Agreement; and all other non-public and sensitive records.
WORKING CONDITIONS Good classroom working conditions.
The work requires the use of safe work practices with offfice and classroom equipment.
USUAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The following physical demands are typically used to perform this job’s essential duties and responsibilities.
They are not qualification standards, rather they may be used to help the College, employee, or applicant identify where and how reasonable accommodations may be made when an otherwise qualified person is unable to perform the job’s essential duties due to an ADA disability.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits for extended periods of time and occasionally stands and walks.

Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision, with the ability to adjust focus when typing or reading a computer screen.

QUALIFICATIONS An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
An example of an acceptable qualification is: Bachelor’s degree with prior computer skills and experience.
Applicant must successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Southern State Community College’s policies and procedures and applicable laws.
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Must complete proctor approval process for any/all governing agencies as needed.
