Open position for Teaching Assistant, K-8, COVID Impact- Full-Time
JOB TITLE: EANS Educational & Support Services Assistant [Learning Loss] Classified – COVID Impact
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Prior experience in school or classroom settings
• Appropriate Credential for the position through the Ohio Department of Education
• Satisfactory Background check REPORTS TO: Center Director, Supervisor, or designee
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide emergency services and assistance to students and teachers in non-public schools through the Emergency Assistance to Non-public Schools Program [EANS] to address the impact that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 [COVID-19] has had, and continues to have, on non-public school students and teachers and to address learning loss This position is funded by federally provided COVID Relief monies – EANS.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Supporting the initiating and maintaining of educational and support services or assistance for remote or hybrid learning and/or to address learning loss
2.
Assisting with developing instructional plans, including curriculum development, for remote or hybrid learning and/or to address learning loss
3.
Assisting with redeveloping instructional plans for remote or hybrid learning and/or to address learning loss
4.
Assisting with modeling effective use of educational technology to assist in addressing learning loss
5.
Assisting with training and professional development for staff on sanitization, the use of PPE, and minimizing the spread of infectious disease [COVID-19].
6.
Supporting the expansion of the capacity to administer coronavirus testing protocols to effectively monitor and suppress the virus.
OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITES:
1.
Assisting with leading and/or supporting exemplary programs, resources, and strategies that represent best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment and supports the social, emotional, and mental wellness of all students.
2.
Assisting with modeling and delivering best practice instructional processes, techniques and strategies in the content areas taught.
3.
Working closely with department chairpersons, principals, and lead teachers to help implement effective Standards-Based instruction.
4.
Assisting with leading, designing, delivering and/or collaboration in support of professional development in general curriculum areas such as curriculum alignment, assessment, and instructional best practice.
5.
Assisting with providing consultation to support building/district educational leaders in the implementation of research-based programs.
6.
Assisting with building strategic alliances and superior relationships with district, HCESC and partners.
7.
Working collaboratively with all building staff, parents/guardians, and community-support providers
8.
Assisting with the coordination of student leadership development and individual student opportunities that support the social and emotional wellbeing of student population.
9.
Being cognizant of and adhering to HCESC policies, procedures, and deadlines.
10.
Performing other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
