Assistant Preschool Teacher - Part-Time

THIS IS YOUR JOB! *Hyde Park Community UMC Preschool, a non-profit, play-based preschool program, is hiring part-time an Assistant Preschool Teacher for the following class for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year (December 2023-May 2024) and beyond:* * 5-Day (Monday-Friday) 4-5 year-olds The hours for this position are roughly 8:15 am-Noon.
HPCUMC Preschool has strong beliefs and philosophies regarding child-led, play-based curriculum and empathic, respectful interactions with young children.
We are looking for a preschool teacher who embodies these same beliefs and will treat our preschoolers with the respect and love that they deserve.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Assisting with planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences for children * On-going observing and assessing individual children and their needs * Following all state licensing regulations at all times * Participating in on-going staff training and professional development * Developing mutually trusting relationships with families through daily communication and annual parent teacher conferences Candidates must have experience working in an early childhood classroom with a play-based curriculum.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required.
Pay is based on education and experience.
