Job Overview As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients.
The Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine invites applications for an academic trauma surgeon to join its full-time faculty in the Section of General Surgery.
Our trauma group consists of fifteen trauma surgeons supporting the UC Health academic healthcare system, which is anchored by the ACS verified adult Level I Trauma Center at its flagship hospital, University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
We serve more than 2 million people in Southwestern Ohio, Eastern Indiana and Northern Kentucky.
Essential Functions Duties will include responsibilities for the clinical, research and teaching activities for our students, residents and fellows.
Clinical responsibilities may include care of trauma, ICU, and emergency general surgery patients as well as outpatient clinic.
The opportunity to develop a private practice in general surgery is also available.
A key component of this position will be establishing a basic science or translational research program and obtaining extramural funding.
Minimum Requirements State of Ohio medical license.
Completion of an accredited general surgery residency.
Board eligible or board certified in surgery and surgical critical care.
Additional Qualifications Considered Completion of an accredited surgery resident and critical care fellowship.

The University of Cincinnati faculty appointment and rank will be commensurate with experience.
