About the Department The School of Information Technology is a national leader in studying solutions and needs that connect people, information, and the technology of the time.
The SoIT is home to Ohio's first Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Technology.
In addition, it is home to Ohio's first ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.
The SoIT has been growing at 20% annually and currently serves more than 2100 students with 30 full-time faculty members, 24 full-time staff, and 32 part-time faculty.
The SoIT is home to several centers including an NSA/DHS Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, the Information Technology Solutions Center, the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, Applied Machine Learning and Intelligence Center, and the Smart Sensing Lab.

Job Overview The School of Information Technology (SoIT) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) is rapidly growing its faculty in cybersecurity, IT infrastructure and cloud, software application development, game development, and applied data science.
The SoIT seeks to hire three Assistant Professor - Educators to teach undergraduate or graduate courses in the areas of Cybersecurity, Software Application Development, Data Technologies, Networking/Systems, and Game Development, as they relate to Information Technology to start in August 2024.
An Assistant Professor - Educator at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach and conduct scholarly and service activities.
This position will support the University of Cincinnati’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

Essential Functions Teach and prepare materials for assigned undergraduate or graduate courses, such as, but not limited to: Cybersecurity, Software Application Development, Data Technologies, Networking/Systems, and Game Development Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
Render service to the professional community which is relevant to the individual’s academic specialty such as serving on committees for professional meetings.
Attend meetings, participate in governance.
Required Education A minimum of master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline to be earned prior to the effective date of appointment.
Required Experience Prior to effective date of appointment: At least one term of teaching experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline at the undergraduate or graduate level, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct, or full-time faculty.
