Adjunct - Screen Writing
Overview
Classroom or online instruction for courses in the art of writing and marketing narrative screenplays.
Essential Duties
Teach the art of writing and marketing narrative screenplays.
Deliver learning-centered instruction by establishing a classroom environment conducive to learning and student involvement as well as effectively planning and preparing for classes and student
Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and students and engaging students in the learning
Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons.
Provide each student with clear course expectations, and timelines through a course syllabus that meets program and College standards.
Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the course
Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a relevant professional
Suitably challenge, engage, serve and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and
Provide timely and appropriate feedback and evaluation for
Maintain a paper or electronic record (i.
e.
, spreadsheet or grade book) of each student's progress and make this information available to students in a timely manner and available to appropriate College personnel if
Complete electronic final grade report and other end-of-semester activities in a timely
Consult with the academic program chair or other appropriate College personnel on questions or issues involving course curricula, instructional strategies, and College policies and
Respond to requests (e.
g.
, from students, academic program chairs, division support staff, and other relevant College personnel) in a timely and thorough
Minimum Qualifications
Some college level education.
Possession of writing credits on plays, films or television shows that have received major awards or mainstream distribution, including major film
Preferred Qualifications
At least 3 years' industry or business applied experience in the teaching subject area.
