Are you an experienced and passionate law enforcement professional looking for a rewarding career opportunity? Butler Tech is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at our Colerain High School satellite location.
As Criminal Justice Instructor with Butler Tech, you will have the opportunity to facilitate a two-year career program for 11th and 12th grade students.
This program offers students hands-on exposure to various criminal justice areas, including the American criminal justice system, security and protective services, investigations and forensics, the corrections system, police work and practices, and Homeland Security.
Our students also participate in SkillsUSA competitions.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Completion of an Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Program approved by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission or equivalent;
* Experience as a duly appointed law enforcement officer by a city police department, county sheriff-department or state patrol, with experience in traffic control, domestic disturbances, accident and crime scene investigation, finger printing, crowd control, etc.

* Willingness and ability to obtain proper licensure by completing Ohio’s alternative teaching licensure process, including university coursework;
* High school diploma and at least five years relevant work experience *OR *Adult education certificate and at least four years of relevant work experience *OR *Associate’s degree or higher in a related field and at least three years of relevant work experience;
* Service as an academy commander or unit instructor is preferred;
* Willingness and ability to work with students and as a team member;
* Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
* Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
* State-issued identification card with photograph;
* History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
* Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
*STARTING DATE:* Immediate start *OR *August 2024
*SALARY: *Competitive salary based on experience and education (Minimum $49,667)
*SCHEDULE: *This position follows the school calendar, which consists of 185 work days per year.
The daily working hours are 7.
5 hours/day from approximately 7:20a - 2:50p
