Teacher of Blind and Low Vision

The Ripley-Ohio-Dearborn (ROD) Special Education Cooperative has an opening for a full-time special educator to serve as an Educational Consultant and Teacher for Visually Impaired Students.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced special education teacher who is either licensed to teach students with visual impairments or who is willing to obtain licensure as a condition of employment.
For example, teachers can add Visual Impairment to their license through a 16 credit-hour online program through Indiana State University which the teacher could enroll in after hiring in at ROD.
When not supporting students with visual impairments, the special educator will serve as an Educational Consultant, providing consultation to schools and conducting academic achievement assessments as a member of the Multidisciplinary Evaluation team.
Financial support is available to assist prospect in obtaining certificate to become a Teacher for Visually Impaired students.
