Job Overview:
This position is responsible for providing safe, effective, motivating group fitness classes for participants of all levels.
Provides leadership while educating, monitoring and encouraging class participants.
Position stays abreast of current fitness industry.
Job Requirements:
High School Degree or GED
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
Current Group Fitness Instructor Certification
Successful audition for group instructor role required
Job Responsibilities:
Provides quality fitness floor supervision to ensure member safety and program progression including instruction on safe and effective exercise.
Provides MOD duties when staffing the fitness center alone which includes; being friendly and helpful to members and non-members and facility management.
Provides leadership in communication with other hospital departments to coordinate assistance and services necessary for center operation.
Performs assigned tasks with minimal coordinator instruction.
Works on various health promotion projects as assigned.
Assists coordinator with many projects.
Plays a role in program development.
Develops individual exercise recommendations based on members' goals and provides equipment orientations as necessary.
Administers and interprets fitness assessments as needed.
