Position: Dean of Student Formation
Archbishop Moeller is an all-male, Catholic high school (grades 9-12) located in Cincinnati, OH.
Founded by the Marianist order of Priests and Brothers, Moeller is a Catholic high school in the Marianist tradition.
Moeller strives to educate all students, regardless of ability, in Mind, Body, and Spirit within a Community of Brothers.
Moeller is nationally recognized for their House System and recently broke ground on a state-of-the-art Innovation Hub.
Moeller offers a comprehensive, college preparatory curriculum which includes over 30 Advanced Placement/College Credit Plus courses, as well as courses in visual and performing arts, world language, business, and information technology.
Position Overview: The Dean of Student Formation at Archbishop Moeller High School is a pivotal leadership role responsible for fostering the holistic development of students in accordance with Catholic, Marianist values.
This position combines elements of academic, spiritual, and personal growth, ensuring a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes the formation of well-rounded individuals.
The Dean of Student Formation will work closely with students, faculty, and parents to create a positive and spiritually enriching educational experience.
Student Development:
Design and implement programs that support the intellectual, emotional, and social development of students.
Foster a culture of student engagement, leadership, and community involvement.
Student Support and Counseling:
Provide guidance and support to students facing social, personal, or behavioral challenges.
Collaborate with counselors and educators to address the unique needs of individual students, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
Oversee counseling services and initiatives to ensure the well-being of students.
Community Building:
Foster a sense of community among students, faculty, and staff through initiatives that promote inclusivity, respect, and collaboration.
Support students in their personal growth, emphasizing the importance of moral integrity and responsible decision-making.
Collaborate with parents to ensure they are active partners in the spiritual and personal development of their children.
Oversee student conduct at various student activities, including, but not limited to, dances, athletic events, assemblies, and in the Student Commons.
Student Conduct and Discipline:
Establish and enforce policies related to student conduct and discipline.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address behavioral issues and implement appropriate interventions.
Ensure a fair and consistent disciplinary process that aligns with Catholic, Marianist values.
Promote a culture of respect, tolerance, and understanding among students from diverse backgrounds.
Professional Development:
Stay current with educational and spiritual development trends, attending conferences and workshops as necessary.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the student formation department.
Other Responsibilities:
The Dean of Student Formation is expected to teach 1-2 classes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required with a Master’s or Doctorate in Secondary Education Administration, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
Must hold or be working towards a license in Secondary Education Administration.
Significant experience in student affairs, with a proven track record of success in fostering student development and community building.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of current trends in secondary education, student affairs, and counseling.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff.
