Culinary Instructor
Description:
Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is seeking a Culinary Instructor within its Entrepreneurship Program to train students in the art of cooking by applying innovative, engaging, and practical hands-on curriculum in its state-of-the-art teaching kitchen.
Qualifications:
Beyond the ability to teach cooking skills, safe food handling, and sanitation to classes of 12 high school students, this dynamic and exciting role will require the following:
ServSafe certification
Willingness to work beyond regular school hours
Flexible and spontaneous nature while also being disciplined and focused
Excited by new opportunities
Must take ownership of the kitchen space beyond the classroom
Ability to host and teach field trips for Grade K-8 students
Occasionally prepare catered items for school requests with the assistance of enrolled students
Professional nature always ready to represent this amazing program with a positive and generous attitude
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with culinary program manager to ensure clarity on curriculum expectations
Lead lectures and hands-on sessions
Assign cooking projects and written assessments
Grade students on their performance
Support and encourage thinking outside the box by empowering students to be problem solvers
Maintain order and cleanliness of the entire kitchen space
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Certificate or degree in culinary arts
Strong communication skills
Teaching or training experience (preferred)
Valid State of Ohio teaching certification
