Position Summary: Kenton County Public Library of Covington, KY is seeking to hire several part-time, temporary Outreach Summer Reading Programmers to implement programs for children and youth; circulate library materials and promote the Library as part of our Summer Outreach Program in schools, outdoor sites, and community centers.

The program will run from June 10, 2024, through July 19, 2023, with possible planning and training in early June.
Principal Responsibilities:
Plans and enacts high-energy experiences that include programs and circulation of books to schools and community sites for Summer Reading Celebration.
Sign up students and participants for Summer Reading Celebration and distribute reading logs and prizes.
Enthusiastically promotes the Library to everyone.
No matter when or where, answers questions and aids patrons with information needs.
Provides upkeep and organizes the Outreach Summer Reading book collection.
Maintains statistics for Summer Reading Celebration visits to schools.
Creates a thoughtful monthly report focusing on impact in the community.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with school-aged children.
Bachelor's degree and/or training in education is preferred.
Must believe in a spirit of hospitality and generosity towards patrons and coworkers.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills necessary.
Must be flexible and readily adaptable to change and innovation.
Must be able to define and solve problems.
Must be tech savvy.
Valid driver's license and means of transportation to fulfill job responsibilities.
Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
and carry 10 ft.
in distance; must be able to push/pull 100 lbs.
This position earns $16.
85/hour plus a mileage reimbursement, and the opportunity to work with a great team!
