Family Consumer Science (FCS) Instructor

| GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The FCS Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards.
Courses taught by this position include: Contemporary Cuisine, Culinary Fundamentals, and Career and College Readiness.
Students participate in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
| QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce or ability to obtain proper licensure.
Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
Current ODE licensure in one of the following:
VO Homemaking and Consumer Education (090104)
VO/CT/CW Culinary Arts and Food Service Management (090203);
CT Family and Consumer Science Education (090120);
VO/CT Family and Consumer Science Careers (090660);
OR Meets all three criteria below:
Holds a bachelor’s degree;
Holds a valid Ohio Resident Educator, Professional, Permanent or Five-Year Career-Technical teaching license in any field;
Passes (or has passed) the OAE content-knowledge test for Family Consumer Science (022); AND
Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance;
History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
| STARTING DATE August 2024
| SALARY Based upon experience and education ($49,667 – 103,605)
| BENEFITS Includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement
| WORK YEAR 185 days - 7.
5 hours/day
