This teacher will be responsible for reaching at least one section of a High School level course (Algebra/Geometry).
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement engaging and rigorous math lessons aligned with state standards and the school’s curriculum, emphasizing the core values of Trust, Respect, Ownership, and Leadership.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive classroom environment where all students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and persevere through challenges.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of learners, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to excel.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate mathematical concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary connections.
• Prepare students for success in Ohio State Testing by providing targeted instruction, practice opportunities, and ongoing assessment.
• Provide timely feedback to students to guide their mathematical understanding and support their academic growth and development.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress in math and offering resources for reinforcement at home.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid Ohio teaching license/certification in Mathematics or eligibility for licensure - Intergrated Math 7-12.
• Demonstrated success in facilitating student growth in mathematical proficiency, particularly in standardized testing measures.
• Experience working with middle school students in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Commitment to fostering a culture of trust, respect, ownership, and leadership within the school community.
• Willingness to engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay abreast of current educational research and best practices.
