Position: PreSchool Special Education Aide
Location: Mason Early Childhood Center
Hours: Monday - Thursday
Start Date: February 1, 2024 (possibly sooner)
Job Responsibilities
Under supervision of the intervention specialist, provides direct instruction to students.
Implements behavior plans designed by intervention specialist to modify behaviors that interfere with learning.
Working one on one with a student with special needs in a preschool environment within the school building.
Participate in team and planning meetings.
Clean and disinfect toys and equipment on a regularly scheduled basis.
Change diapers and soiled clothing as necessary and clean runny noses, practicing universal precautions (wear gloves, use disinfectant, etc.
).
Follow through with therapy/classroom intervention, as directed by therapists/teacher.
Complete in service training in the areas of early childhood education:
a.
Child abuse prevention and recognition
b.
Communicable diseases
c.
All other training as required
Nurture children and facilitate play following developmentally appropriate practice.
Maintain confidentiality of staff, students, and families associated with the preschool program in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
Provides physical assistance when needed for students with physical, behavioral, or safety needs, including lifting, positioning, transferring, prompting, escorting, and/or monitoring.
Assists in documentation of student performance and data collection.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
* Must have a high school diploma or GED
* Must be able to pass a BCI&I and FBI criminal background check
