Respiratory Care Assistant Professor (tenure track) (NKU Internal Only)

Northern Kentucky University’s (NKU) School of Allied Health, in the College of Health and Human Services, is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Educator for the full-time position of Assistant Professor for the Bachelor of Science Respiratory Care Program.
Teaching responsibilities may also include courses in the online completion program.
The position requires a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and a current state license.
Experience in teaching and clinical practice is required.
This is a 9-month tenure track faculty position with an appointment at the rank of assistant professor or renewable lecturer.

Primary Responsibilities Responsibilities will include: 1) Teach 12 credit hours per semester in the respiratory care curriculum, primarily in the traditional BS face-to-face program, but occasionally in the online completion program as needed; some courses may be off-campus at area clinical sites 2) Engage in scholarly activities 3) Engage in service activities (university and community) 4) Participate in program evaluation, review and improvement Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field and a degree in respiratory care from an approved school of Respiratory Care.
At least 5 years of professional clinical experience and 2 years of teaching experience.
Additional qualifications include: Effective teaching record with an ability to engage with faculty and students from diverse cultural backgrounds Scholarly record and ability to meet the scholarly requirements of tenure Demonstrated commitment to intercultural competence, inclusive excellence, and initiatives that advance the success of underrepresented groups Demonstrated record of service activities Respiratory licensure (or eligible) in both Kentucky and Ohio Minimum Education The candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field and a degree in respiratory care from an approved school of Respiratory Care.
Preferred Education The candidate will possess a Master’s degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
It is preferred but not required to possess a Doctoral degree in a related field.
