INTERNSHIP POSITION SUMMARY
The Cincinnati Art Museum has an opening for a Visitor Research and Marketing Project Intern.
This part-time paid internship will take place beginning in May 2024 and run for 12 weeks and be scheduled approximately 21 hours per week.
This internship position will contribute to multiple ongoing mission-driven projects, supporting visitor experience, and marketing initiatives.
The intern’s time will be split between supporting data collection and assisting with projects in collaboration with museum teams.
The internship will provide a range of research and evaluation experience, as well as general marketing and visitor service experience, to add to their resume.
The intern will receive unique experiences at the museum, networking opportunities, and hands-on training.
Large-scale projects include deeper dives into visitor experience data, exhibition research, program evaluation, marketing initiatives, and more.
Our data collection initiative is called COVES, the Collaboration for Ongoing Visitor Experience Studies, and is the same survey that is used at art and science museums nationwide, providing meaningful experience feedback for museum teams.
ESSENTIAL INTERNSHIP FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working under the direction of the Visitor Research Coordinator, duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist the museum in collecting data.
Utilize research to evaluate previous guest services and future impact through recommendations and benchmarks.
Compilation and analysis of existing data from multiple sources.
Advanced critical thinking and problem solving will be required.
Create comprehensive reports of project findings to present to museum teams.
Provide exceptional visitor experience.
Other duties as assigned.
INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be comfortable interacting with the public, provide great customer service, and engage in active listening.
Intern must be a team player who can work with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Must be available to work on weekends as needed.
