The Senior Controls Engineer is responsible for electrical design and PLC programming of products, both standardized and custom integrated systems.
This individual designs, develops, tests, and documents electrical design, develops PLC programs, and ensures system quality from concept to commercialization.
This position is also responsible for integrated systems development and delivery, and interface with suppliers.
This person will also be required to come into our Loveland, OH Headquarters.

Position Responsibilities:
Controls Engineering Leadership:
Develop a vision and strategy for electrical and controls technology, leading Cold Jet to greater heights in product design.
Lead the development of standards, processes, and structure for control programs and equipment design.
Represent the controls function on cross-functional initiatives with design teams, including sales, marketing, and production for new product development projects.
Integrated Systems:
Design and develop control systems for unique and innovative automated and integrated systems from concept to commercial release, meeting product specification requirements, budget and timelines.

Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements, and related specifications.
Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to coordinate and monitor production of equipment, responding to questions or issues about product designs.
Provide support to the run-off testing of automated and integrated systems following manufacture.
Investigate equipment failures and application problems to diagnose causes, and implement corrective procedures.
Support start-up operation of integrated systems at customer locations as needed, to ensure that the installation functions to performance specifications.
Provide feedback and expertise regarding customer, process and production issues, then develop and implement resolutions.
Product Development:
Specify system components and design to ensure conformance with international regulatory codes, power requirements and overall performance specifications.
Work with product development team, as electrical/controls expert to design, develop, test and document new products from concept to commercial release.
Document designs and specifications using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment, manufacturing database and software.
Develop and analyze electrical design proposals, specifications, components, manuals and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements.
Support the Team:
Contribute to Product Development initiatives and projects.
Contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Position Requirements:
Education & Experience:
BSEE or EET or other applicable degree.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in controls engineering and product development for industrial equipment.
Skill Competencies:
Knowledgeable of international power and regulatory requirements.
Solid PLC programming and troubleshooting skills.
Siemens, Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi experience a plus.
Savvy with international customs and international travel.
Excellent communicator.
Proficient with CAD and design of electrical schematics and circuits.
Ability to plan and coordinate detailed phases of projects.
Mechanical aptitude.
Familiar with delivery of data from PLC to external monitoring sources.
Fluid in adapting to change.
Approx 30% travel required.
